The Wake Student Magazine is a fortnightly (bi-weekly), student-operated arts, culture and social commentary publication. University of Minnesota students from many disciplines do all of the reporting, writing, editing, illustration, photography, layout and business management for The Wake.
My main role as a Creative Director at the Wake Magazine is to design and assemble every issue, in collaboration with three designers and the Art Director. I am also in charge of creating social media graphics, advertisements, and Spotify playlist covers. My goal is to curate a consistent design aesthetic and branding for the magazine, so I am in charge of providing feedback to designers on their work on how to make their art fit in if necessary. As Creative Director, I am also responsible for sending the magazine to the printers and ordering copies of the issues.
